The second batch of the one-year hybrid MFES program offered by Rashtriya Raksha University will launch in November 2026. The program is designed for working professionals from various fields and aims to provide a multidisciplinary understanding of financial and economic security.
The Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), is set to launch the second batch of its Masters in Financial and Economic Security (MFES) program in November 2026. The program follows the successful completion of its first cohort, which comprised more than 40 professionals from diverse fields such as banking, law enforcement, investigation, academia, entrepreneurship, legal services, and other relevant domains.
Designed especially for working professionals, the one-year program is offered in a hybrid mode, enabling participants to continue their professional responsibilities while gaining specialized knowledge and practical skills. The program places strong emphasis on practical learning, hands-on training, and exposure to contemporary challenges in financial and economic security. Speaking at the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Mumbai, Mr. Sunil Kavishwar, Director of the School of Criminal Law and Military Law at RRU, highlighted the growing importance of safeguarding the integrity and resilience of financial systems.
Mr. Kavishwar noted that financial crimes are continuously evolving, moving beyond traditional forms into emerging areas such as virtual digital assets, terror financing, proliferation financing, and technology-enabled financial crimes. The increasing use of sophisticated technologies by criminal networks has further created new challenges for enforcement, regulatory, and financial institutions.
Mr. Kavishwar also emphasized that RRU has taken the lead in developing a global platform for capacity building, specialized training, and knowledge exchange in the emerging field of financial and economic security. The University is working towards bringing together professionals, experts, and institutions from across relevant domains to strengthen specialised understanding and practical capabilities in this area.
Mr. Harshit Singh, Teaching Cum Research Officer at RRU, spoke about the importance of developing a specialized professional cadre equipped to address emerging financial and economic security challenges. He emphasized that such trained professionals can contribute to strengthening India’s economic resilience, supporting sustainable national growth, and enhancing the country’s contribution to global financial security and stability.
The program aligns with the broader vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat @2047 by contributing to the development of skilled professionals capable of protecting financial systems, strengthening institutional capacity, and responding effectively to emerging economic and security threats.
