The Indian government has launched the Pashudhan Bima Portal, a digital platform that aims to provide transparency, efficiency, accessibility, and technology-driven services in livestock insurance under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
In New Delhi today, the Indian government introduced the Pashudhan Bima Portal, a single, integrated digital platform designed for the streamlined processing of policies, claims, monitoring, and reporting under the Livestock Insurance Scheme. The Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, stated that this initiative is aimed at enhancing the transparency, efficiency, accessibility, and technology-driven nature of livestock insurance services, thereby strengthening risk protection for farmers and supporting the sustainability of their livelihoods.
The Pashu Dhan Bima Portal will facilitate better coordination, real-time monitoring, and data-driven management of livestock insurance programs across the country. This, in turn, is expected to contribute significantly to improved service delivery. Mr. Singh considered this portal an essential step towards protecting farmers' livelihoods and fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to boost farmer income, secure agricultural and livestock assets, and promote technology usage.
The Portal will be accessible in 11 regional languages apart from Hindi and English. This feature is intended to enable livestock farmers to access information and services in their native languages.
