The Department of Pharmaceuticals, along with its attached organizations, has commenced a month-long initiative aimed at cleanliness, pendency liquidation, and e-waste management.

In accordance with the government's guidelines, the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) and its subordinate bodies – including the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPERs), and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) – have officially initiated Special Campaign 6 on October 2, 2026. This campaign is a part of the celebrations for Gandhi Jayanti.

The preparatory phase from September 15–30, 2026, has been completed successfully, with baseline targets, site identifications, and record inventories achieved.

The campaign includes cleanliness and outstation office drives scheduled across organizational units totaling 12,208. Additionally, active resolution tracking is underway for various references including 4 MP references, 2 Parliamentary Assurances, 1 Inter-Ministerial Cabinet proposal, 58 State Government references, 2 PMO references, 72 Public Grievances (CPGRAMS), 18 Public Grievance Appeals, and 20 Easing of Rules/Process items.

The Department is also focusing on scientific e-waste management, targeting the disposal of obsolete equipment such as IT & telecommunication equipment, consumer electrical/electronic & photovoltaic units, laboratory instruments, other electronic assets, and electrical tools. The disposal will be compliant with E-Waste Management Rules.

The campaign aims to promote clean, clutter-free working environments through systematic record reviews and scrap clearance.
