The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) initiated the Implementation Phase of Special Campaign 6 today. This campaign, which runs from October 2nd to 31st, aims to institutionalize Swachhata and minimize pending matters in government offices. The campaign is being carried out across the ministry, including its subordinate offices, autonomous organizations, regional offices, and other field and outstation offices.
The focus of this year's Special Campaign 6 aligns with the guidelines of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG). The campaign primarily emphasizes 'Effective Collection, Segregation and Disposal of E-Waste', along with cleanliness of campaign sites, disposal of pending matters, records management, space management, process simplification, and disposal of redundant items and furniture.
In addition to the main objectives, MoEFCC has identified specific targets under various parameters for this campaign. These targets include cleanliness of campaign sites, references from Members of Parliament, parliamentary assurances, inter-ministerial/cabinet references, state government references, public grievance appeals, physical files identified for review, e-files identified for review, information technology and telecommunication equipment, consumer electrical and electronics, photovoltaic panels, large and small electrical and electronic equipment, electrical and electronic tools, toys, leisure and sports equipment, and laboratory instruments.
The e-waste identified by the organizations and offices will be processed in accordance with the applicable rules and the SOP guidelines finalized by DARPG. The Implementation Phase of Special Campaign 6 has also commenced in all subordinate offices, autonomous organizations, and regional offices. Nodal officers have been designated to coordinate and monitor the activities, ensure timely reporting, and facilitate achievement of the identified targets.
