Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to meet Poland’s Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, today for discussions regarding the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and mutual interests on regional and global issues. According to reports, several agreements are anticipated to be finalized post the talks.
During his visit, Prime Minister Tusk is accompanied by Minister of Finance and Economy, Andrzej Domanski, along with a substantial business delegation. This marks his second trip to India as Poland's Prime Minister, having previously visited in 2010 during an earlier tenure.
India-Poland bilateral relations were elevated to a Strategic Partnership during the visit of Prime Minister Modi to Poland in August 2024. Both countries celebrated 70 years of diplomatic relations in 2024. Bilateral trade was pegged at over 6 billion dollars in 2025, making Poland India’s largest trading and investment partner in Central and Eastern Europe. Indian investments in Poland are valued at over 3 billion dollars.
Around 3500 Indian students are pursuing higher education in Poland, while Poland is home to a strong Indian diaspora of over 30 thousand. The visit will provide the opportunity to further strengthen the India-Poland Strategic Partnership and advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment, defence, emerging technologies, renewable energy, education, culture, and people-to-people ties.
Following his time in New Delhi, Prime Minister Tusk is expected to travel to Bengaluru where he will engage with various business stakeholders, including those from the IT and space sectors.
