The Home Ministry initiates a pilot project to train Civil Defence Master Trainers through the Indian Army, with an aim to establish a robust Civil Defence network in India.
The Home Ministry will launch a unique pilot initiative aimed at strengthening the nation's Civil Defence preparedness. This endeavor involves providing specialized training to Civil Defence Master Trainers via the Indian Army, under the supervision of the Directorate General of Fire Services, Civil Defence and Home Guards.
The objective is to cultivate a thriving Civil Defence Network within India. The first phase of this initiative will take place by the second week of November this year, where 600 Civil Defence Master Trainers from 12 States and Union Territories will receive training.
Participating regions include Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. This move follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement during his address from the Red Fort this year about building a vibrant Civil Defence network equipped with modern systems, technologies, and contemporary preparedness capabilities.
