Prince Alois is visiting India from October 25-28 for a State visit, accompanied by his spouse and a high-level delegation. The visit aims to strengthen ties across various areas including trade and investment, science, technology, and innovation.
At the invitation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein will undertake his second State visit to India in 2026 from October 25-28. The Acting Head of State is accompanied by his spouse Hereditary Princess Sophie and a high-level official, along with a business delegation comprising top industry leaders.
During the visit, Prince Alois will hold bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Modi to discuss cooperation in various areas such as trade and investment, science, technology, and innovation, as well as exchange views on regional and global developments. The Prime Minister and Hereditary Prince Alois are also expected to meet President Smt. Droupadi Murmu, who will host an official banquet in his honour.
The visit is accompanied by a high-level delegation of industry leaders. This marks the second time Prince Alois visits India in 2026, following an earlier trip to New Delhi in February for the AI Impact Summit. Prince Alois had previously visited India in 2010 and 2018.
External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar will also call on Hereditary Prince Alois during his visit. The visit is anticipated to bolster the growing engagement between India and Liechtenstein, particularly since the operationalization of the India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement in 2025. The visit will provide an opportunity to further deepen the friendly ties between India and Liechtenstein and build partnerships in new areas of mutual interest.
