Indian public sector enterprise NLC India Limited has exceeded its targets during the implementation phase of Special Campaign 6, a nationwide initiative spearheaded by DARPG to manage institutional e-waste.

NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Coal, has actively embarked upon the Special Campaign 6. This campaign is a nationwide initiative spearheaded by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) across all Union Ministries and Public Sector Undertakings. The campaign aims to effectively collect, segregate, and dispose of institutional e-waste in compliance with the E-Waste Management Rules 2022.

In an impressive show of performance during the implementation phase (October 2–31, 2026), NLCIL surpassed key operational and cleanliness targets set during this campaign. The enterprise identified and organized cleanliness drives across 180 campaign sites, exceeding its initial target of 145 sites, and successfully reclaimed 2,496,193 square feet of space against a proposed 2,415,786 square feet.

In addition, NLCIL disposed of 1,272 metric tonnes of scrap, successfully exceeding its 1,266.22 MT target and generating ₹3,11,89,078 in revenue. The campaign's impact was widely amplified through digital and public outreach, featuring 352 social media posts, 8 video highlights, and 6 press coverage features.

Demonstrating its robust commitment to operational excellence and governance under the Special Campaign 5.0, NLCIL also cleared all pending public grievances down to zero. Underlining its dedication to citizen service, NLCIL reviewed 1,378 physical files and 320 e-files, weeded out 506 physical files and 122 e-files, and identified three processes for administrative simplification alongside launching 26 new initiatives.

NLCIL also organized an e-waste campaign on October 3, 2026, where it successfully cleared 2,042 items of e-waste across three distinct categories under the campaign drive. Demonstrating responsible electronic asset management, the company processed 1,491 items of Information Technology and Telecommunication Equipment (ITEW), 351 units of Laboratory Instruments (LIW), and 200 items of Consumer Electrical and Electronics & Photovoltaic Panels (CEEW).
