The Department of Pharmaceuticals has actively participated in SCDPM 6.0 with a focus on cleanliness, e-waste management, record management, grievance redressal and space optimization.
The Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has been actively participating in the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) 6.0 along with its attached office, the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), and its organisations including the seven National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPERs), the Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), and three Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs): Bengal Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited (BCPL), Hindustan Antibiotics Limited (HAL), and Karnataka Antibiotics & Pharmaceuticals Limited (KAPL).
The campaign, which is being conducted from October 2 to October 31, 2026, aims to promote cleanliness, scientific management and disposal of e-waste, systematic record management, effective grievance redressal, and optimum utilisation of office space with the objective of enhancing administrative efficiency and promoting a clean, organised, and productive work environment.
In terms of cleanliness drives, 14,700 drives have been conducted so far against a baseline target of 12,208, reflecting the Department’s continued efforts to improve workplace hygiene and sanitation, strengthen environmental awareness, and foster sustainable workplace practices.
The campaign has also strengthened systematic record management and promoted the efficient utilisation of office space. Against a baseline target of 2,716 physical files and 20 e-files, the Department has reviewed 4,283 physical files and 20 e-files. 489 files have been weeded out and closed, freeing up 2,200 square feet of office space.
Grievance redressal and liquidation of pendency are being strengthened through the timely resolution of pending matters including MP references (3 against target of 4), parliamentary assurances(1 out of 2), a Cabinet proposal (02 proposals), State reference (57 against 58) and PMO references (02 cases). Against the target of 72 public grievances and 28 appeals, registered on the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS), 132 public grievance cases and 39 appeals have been settled. Against target of 20 items identified for easing of rules/processes, this has been completed for 17 items.
Scientific e-waste management is one of the key focus areas of SCDPM 6. The Department has targeted 1,011 obsolete electronic and electrical items – comprising IT equipment, consumer electronics, appliances, and laboratory tools – for safe disposal through empanelled recyclers under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022. The process for disposing of these items is currently underway.
