The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has made substantial progress in disposing of pending references as part of Special Campaign 6. This initiative, aimed at minimising pendency and institutionalising Swachhata across all offices, has resulted in the disposal of over 50% of references from the PMO and over 80% of Public Grievances.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), along with its attached and subordinate offices, is implementing Special Campaign 6 under the guidance of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG). The campaign, which ran from 2 to 31 October 2026, aims to institutionalise Swachhata and minimise pendency in official work across all offices. During this period, DPIIT has made significant progress across multiple parameters.
All categories of pending references, including those received from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Cabinet, Members of Parliament, State Governments and Public Grievances (PG)/PG Appeals, have been identified and are being systematically addressed to ensure their timely and effective disposal. As of 28 October 2026, DPIIT has successfully disposed of more than 50% of references received from the PMO, around 75% of references from the Cabinet/Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) and State Governments, over 99% of Public Grievances and more than 80% of Public Grievance Appeals. The Department has also closed around 83% of the identified e-files, reflecting its efforts towards efficient record management.
These initiatives have contributed to improving workplace cleanliness and the overall working environment for officials and staff.
