Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has declared a concerted effort by the State Government towards enhancing youth welfare through expanded educational prospects and employment avenues. The focus on medical education is evident, with the rapid establishment of new colleges that aim to bolster Madhya Pradesh's healthcare services in the coming years.
Dr. Yadav revealed that the current count of medical colleges stands at 34, set to reach 52 within the next two years. In contrast, there were only five medical colleges and a mere 500 MBBS seats in 2002–03. Today, the number of available seats has grown significantly to 5,500, with plans to increase this capacity to 10,000 medical college seats in the near future.
During an event in Panna, Dr. Yadav announced the upcoming inauguration of Panna Medical College, which will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The rapid construction progress indicates that this college is slated for completion next year. Currently, residents of Panna must travel to Satna Medical College or Chhatarpur for specialized medical treatment. Establishing a medical college in Panna will greatly improve access to quality healthcare and medical education within the region.
