This article provides a detailed breakdown of the eight amendments made to the Constitution of India between 2014 and 2023, as provided by the Union Minister of Law and Justice, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal.

Over the past twelve years, eight amendments have been made to the Constitution of India. The most recent amendment, the Constitution (One Hundred and Sixth Amendment) Act, 2023, focuses on reservation of seats for women in the House of People and in the Legislative Assemblies of the States. This act replaced the collegium system for appointing judges to the Supreme Court and High Courts with the National Judicial Appointments Commission, as per the Constitution (Ninety-Ninth Amendment) Act, 2014. The Constitution (One Hundredth Amendment) Act, 2015 pertains to the land boundary agreement between India and Bangladesh. The Goods and Services Tax in India was established by the Constitution (One Hundred and First Amendment) Act, 2016. The constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes was granted by the Constitution (One Hundred and Second Amendment) Act, 2018. The Constitution (One Hundred and Third Amendment) Act, 2019 introduced reservation for Economically Weaker Sections in Government jobs and educational institutions. The Constitution (One Hundred and Fourth Amendment) Act, 2019 extended the reservation of seats for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies for another ten years, until January 25, 2030. Lastly, amendments in article 342A and consequential amendments thereto in articles 338B and 366 of the Constitution were made by the Constitution (One Hundred and Fifth Amendment) Act, 2021.
