The Madhya Pradesh Government increases the procurement limit for mung farmers from 25% to 60%. The Agriculture Minister also forms a committee to review practical issues related to the e-token system for fertiliser distribution.

Following the directions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh Government has made a significant decision to increase the procurement limit for every eligible farmer's mung produce from 25% to 60%. This translates to approximately 3 quintals per acre in districts such as Narmadapuram, Sehore, and Harda. The immediate effect of this decision aims to benefit the maximum number of eligible farmers.

To facilitate farmers further, the State Government has extended the slot booking period by 10 days. Farmers can now book procurement slots until 10 August instead of 30 July. Similarly, the last date for procurement has been extended from 10 August to 20 August.

The Government of India has fixed a procurement target of 4.52 lakh metric tonnes of mung for Madhya Pradesh. Under the Government of India's procurement scheme, a maximum of 25 per cent of the State's total mung production is eligible for procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). However, the State Government has now increased the procurement limit for every eligible farmer's mung produce from 25 per cent to 60 per cent, enabling a substantially larger quantity of produce to be procured from each farmer.

Regarding the e-token system for fertiliser distribution, Agriculture Minister Shri Aidal Singh Kansana said that the Madhya Pradesh Government has formed a high-level committee under the chairmanship of the Agriculture Production Commissioner to examine the issues that have emerged during its initial implementation and submit its recommendations to the State Government. The committee will comprehensively review the practical issues related to the e-token system, and necessary improvements will be implemented immediately based on its recommendations. Pending receipt of the committee's recommendations and the implementation of necessary improvements, the e-token system for fertiliser distribution has been suspended with immediate effect.
