Madhya Pradesh to Establish Comprehensive Telecom Manufacturing Ecosystem in Gwalior

The project, valued at ₹3,500 crore and expected to generate 14,000 jobs, is a significant step towards establishing Madhya Pradesh as a leading industrial and technology hub.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is making significant strides across various sectors. A significant milestone was achieved recently with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Communications, Government of India and the Government of Madhya Pradesh for establishing a Global Telecom Manufacturing Hub and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Gwalior.

The project is anticipated to attract ₹3,500 crore in investment. Companies such as HFCL Limited, Dixon Technologies, VVDN Technologies Private Limited, Technotrendz Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Optimus Electronics Limited, Brandworks Technologies, Syrma SGS Technology Limited, Cox & Kings, Pranav Tech One, Sparsh CCTV, IN Telecom, Lava Mobiles, and India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) have expressed interest in investing.

Approximately 14,000 employment opportunities are expected to be generated. The project will further strengthen Madhya Pradesh's position as one of India's fastest-growing industrial and technology destinations.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the MoU signing ceremony at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, stating that communication equipment manufactured in Madhya Pradesh would now serve both domestic and global markets. He added that the project will bolster the 'Make in India' initiative and reaffirm Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's confidence in Madhya Pradesh as a preferred investment destination.

The Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) in Gwalior will be developed over 170 acres, creating a fully integrated ecosystem for the telecom industry. The zone will support the entire value chain—from design, manufacturing, testing and development to certification and exports. It will facilitate the manufacturing of 5G and 6G telecom equipment, optical fibre equipment, semiconductor components, networking devices and electronic hardware.
