Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel reviews implementation of Community Forest Resource (CFR) Rights, emphasizes transparency and effective implementation.

Madhya Pradesh Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel conducted a review meeting at Lok Bhavan on Thursday to assess the implementation of the Community Forest Resource (CFR) Rights under the Forest Rights Act, 2006. The Principal Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Navneet Mohan Kothari, was present during the meeting held in Sandipani Auditorium.

The Governor directed all concerned departments to ensure effective implementation of the Act through coordinated efforts. He also instructed officials to seek cooperation from local public representatives and citizens, as necessary, for the effective implementation of the Act.

During the meeting, Governor Patel conducted a district-wise review of the implementation of CFR Rights and sought detailed information on the recognition, conservation, and management of community forest resources. He emphasized that all procedures prescribed under the Forest Rights Act should be followed in accordance with its provisions and that the entire process should be carried out in Gram Sabhas in a harmonious and transparent manner. The Governor also reviewed the progress of the Act in PESA villages.

Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development, Smt. Special awareness initiatives will be undertaken at the local level, and all departments associated with the implementation of the Act will work in coordination to ensure its effective implementation.
