Integrated Development of Villages under PM-AJAY for Scheduled Castes

The Government of India is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY) across the country, focusing on 50 socio-economic indicators in 10 sectors. A total of 3,28,131 development works and 1,10,51,213 beneficiaries have been identified under this scheme.

The Government of India is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY) to promote socio-economic development of Scheduled Caste communities. The Adarsh Gram Component, a part of this initiative, focuses on the integrated development of selected villages by addressing critical development gaps and ensuring saturation of key socio-economic indicators across 10 sectors including education, health, sanitation, and infrastructure.

According to the details shared in the Rajya Sabha, a total of 435 villages have been selected under the Adarsh Gram Component of PM-AJAY, with 435 villages identified in Telangana alone. State-wise details of the selected villages have been provided.

To achieve this, the scheme aims to saturate 50 monitorable socio-economic indicators. A need assessment survey is conducted to establish the baseline status of these indicators. Identified gaps are addressed through convergence with Central and State Government schemes or through interventions supported under PM-AJAY.

As of the data provided in the Rajya Sabha, across the country, 3,28,131 development works have been identified under the scheme, out of which 46,642 development works have been completed. Additionally, 1,10,51,213 beneficiaries have been identified, with 47,59,399 beneficiaries having received benefits under the scheme.

In Telangana specifically, under the education sector, 1,06,102 development works have been identified, out of which 81,362 have already received benefits under the scheme.
