
Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, has unveiled comprehensive plans for celebrating India's Independence Day and boosting sports development in the state.
In a meeting at the State Shooting Academy, the Chief Minister emphasized the significance of August as the month of Independence celebrations. He urged citizens to celebrate Independence Day with fervor and declared August 9 as 'August Kranti Diwas'. Dr. Yadav also proposed a grand Tiranga Yatra in Bhopal, inviting active participation from citizens and youth. The yatra aims to inspire people to safeguard the nation's hard-earned freedom and strengthen patriotism.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister commended athletes from Madhya Pradesh for their exceptional performances in national and international competitions. He highlighted the need for special attention to athletes' nutrition, scientific training, and skill enhancement while promoting modern training techniques. The Chief Minister also advocated for continued encouragement of athletes excelling in the Olympics, Asian Games, and national competitions.
To further sports development in Madhya Pradesh, the Chief Minister plans to finalize rules for incentives and awards for Olympic medal winners at the earliest. He instructed officials to arrange suitable employment opportunities and financial rewards for these athletes. The Chief Minister also intends to establish dedicated Mallakhamb and Gymnastics Academies in the state as soon as possible.
Additionally, Dr. Yadav directed that sports complexes be developed on available land at Sandipani Schools across the state. He called for collaboration between the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, School Education Department, Higher Education Department, Technical Education Department, Tribal Affairs Department, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, and the Madhya Pradesh Youth Commission to achieve this goal. The Chief Minister also requested the preparation of a unified framework for sports activities and infrastructure development.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of coordinating with the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to secure maximum Central assistance for the expansion of sports infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh. He urged officials to expedite works under the CM Yuva Shakti Yojana by collaborating with District Collectors.
To enhance the quality and execution of sports infrastructure projects, Dr. Yadav suggested studying successful sports infrastructure development models implemented with corporate support in Haryana and Odisha. He also advocated for establishing a Project Management Unit within the Sports Department.
