On the first Monday of the holy month of Shravan, Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar embarked on His annual traditional royal procession through Ujjain city in the divine Manmahesh form. The procession was preceded by the Shodashopachar Pujan and ceremonial Aarti at the Sabha Mandap of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, conducted by Government Priest Pt. Ghanshyam Sharma. Several dignitaries such as Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. As the palanquin passed through the city, personnel of the armed police contingent presented a ceremonial Guard of Honour to the deity.

Thousands of devotees lined both sides of the procession route seeking the divine darshan of Lord Manmahesh. After the Guard of Honour, the procession proceeded from Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple through Gudri Square, Bakshi Bazaar and Kaharwadi before reaching Ram Ghat on the banks of the sacred Kshipra River. At Ram Ghat, 1,100 Vedic students recited sacred Vedic hymns during the worship of Lord Mahakaleshwar. Thousands of devotees showered flower petals on Lord Mahakaleshwar's palanquin and sought His blessings throughout the procession route.
