BRICS Cultural Festival in Bhopal, India

Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat addressed the BRICS Cultural Festival in Bhopal, emphasizing India's role as a confluence of civilizations and promoting the ideals of world peace, cultural dialogue, and global harmony.

Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat spoke at the BRICS Cultural Festival held in Bhopal during the Third Meeting of the BRICS Ministers of Culture. He highlighted Madhya Pradesh's historical and cultural significance as a confluence of civilizations, ideas, faiths, and artistic traditions for centuries. The Union Minister referred to prehistoric rock shelters at Bhimbetka, the serenity of Sanchi, the magnificent temples of Khajuraho, and the rich traditions of Madhya Pradesh's vibrant tribal communities as elements that reflect India's civilizational journey. Emphasizing Indian philosophies of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (The World Is One Family) and 'Atithi Devo Bhava' (The Guest Is God), Shekhawat emphasized hospitality's importance in India, noting that it is a cherished civilizational value. He also noted that music and art constitute the universal language of humanity, fostering friendship, peace, and hope across civilizations.

The cultural evening commenced with the universal prayer 'Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah' (May All Be Happy), a message of universal well-being. Union Minister Shri Shekhawat welcomed delegates to Bhopal and expressed confidence that their visit would strengthen cultural ties and mutual understanding among BRICS nations.

The three-day festival celebrated the ideals of world peace, cultural dialogue, and global harmony through music, dance, and artistic performances.
