
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated a commemoration program for Devi Ahilyabai Holkar and announced the formation of a Pal-Gadariya Welfare Board during the Punyasmriti Diwas programme organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Gadariya Mahasabha.
Indian Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav addressed the Punyasmriti Diwas programme on Thursday, commemorating the 231st death anniversary of Punyashlok Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar at Ravindra Bhavan in Indore. During the event, he inaugurated the commemoration program by lighting a ceremonial lamp and paying floral tribute to Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai.
Dr. Yadav also released a book titled 'Jago Nari Jago' on the occasion and offered prayers at the feet of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai. He was presented with a statue and portrait of Devi Ahilyabai and welcomed with a gajmala.
The Chief Minister lauded Devi Ahilyabai Holkar as an illustrious ruler of Malwa whose legacy continues to make Madhya Pradesh and the nation proud. He emphasized that she established exemplary standards of good governance and justice during her reign.
In addition, Dr. Yadav pointed out that the State Government had organized a special Cabinet meeting to commemorate Devi Ahilyabai Holkar’s 300th birth anniversary. He highlighted the government's commitment to public service, good governance, women’s empowerment, and cultural renaissance while promoting development across all sectors under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Addressing the community, Dr. Yadav acknowledged the Pal-Gadariya community’s devotion to serving cattle, equating it with Lord Krishna's role as Gopal. He announced that the government has set a target to increase milk production to boost the state’s economic prosperity and promote animal husbandry to enhance farmers’ incomes.
In response to the demand of representatives from the Akhil Bharatiya Gadariya community, Dr. Yadav also announced the formation of a Pal-Gadariya Welfare Board.
National President of the Akhil Bharatiya Gadariya Mahasabha Shri Moti Shripal spoke about Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's honor to the community by installing a statue of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar in Kashi. Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai ensured that public service remained the foremost objective of governance during her reign.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the Gadariya community’s key objectives, including women's empowerment, social harmony, mass marriage programs, and nation-building. The Mahasabha encourages youth to prepare for civil service examinations, promotes skill development, environmental conservation, blood donation, and social service.
