Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav addresses the Balaram Agriculture Festival in Raisen, highlighting the increase in demand for the district's Basmati rice in 47 countries and the government's support for farmers.
At the Balaram Agriculture Festival organized in Raisen, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the growing global recognition of Raisen's agricultural produce, particularly its Basmati rice. Last year, approximately ₹1,800 crore worth of Basmati was exported to 47 countries worldwide.
Dr. Yadav also addressed the ongoing procurement of moong and urad, with a record 104 lakh metric tonnes of wheat already purchased from farmers at minimum support price (MSP) along with bonus. The government aims to strengthen the agricultural value chain through expansions of food parks, cold chains, and agricultural processing infrastructure.
In his speech, Dr. Yadav underscored the importance of farmers' fields to the government, asserting that every grain produced is treated as prasad. He announced continued zero-interest loans for farmers and ongoing efforts to resolve irregularities in cooperative accounts, allowing thousands of farmers access to loans and government schemes.
Dr. Yadav also urged farmers not to sell their agricultural land due to forthcoming road projects around Bhopal.
