The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the results of its latest Conversion/Switch Auction of various Government of India Securities. The auction included a total of ten source securities with different maturity periods and saw participation from multiple bidders.
On August 17, 2026, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducted a Conversion/Switch Auction of Government of India Securities. This auction aimed to facilitate the conversion of existing securities into other securities with different maturity periods.
The source securities for this auction included eight 7% and two 8.26% securities with various maturity years, ranging from 2027 to 2039.
For instance, the auction included 8.26% GS 2027, 7.17% GS 2028, 7.06% GS 2028, 7.37% GS 2028, and 7.26% GS 2029, among others.
The notified amounts for each source security ranged from ₹ 2,000 crore to ₹ 5,000 crore. The destination securities offered included a variety of maturities and yields, such as 7.19% GS 2060, 6.64% GS 2035, 6.83% GS 2039, 7.10% GS 2034, and others.
A total of 4 to 36 offers were received for each source security, with the number of offers accepted varying from 2 to 10. The total amount of source securities offered ranged from ₹ 2,203.10 crore to ₹ 12,321.12 crore, and the total amount of destination securities issued ranged from ₹ 2,112.108 crore to ₹ 7,707.893 crore.
