The Indore-Manmad railway line project, costing around ₹18,000 crore, is a significant development in Madhya Pradesh. The new railway link will benefit the industrial corridor in the Malwa and Chambal regions, as well as the Defence Corridor and Telecom Manufacturing Zone.

Under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, Indian Railways has made unprecedented progress. The country has been gifted Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains, while hydrogen-powered trains have also begun operating in India. Plans are also underway to introduce bullet trains.

Madhya Pradesh is receiving newer railway and other development projects from the Central Government regularly. One of the major developments is the Indore-Manmad railway line project, costing around ₹18,000 crore. This new railway link will connect Guna and Malwa in Madhya Pradesh to Mumbai.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has emphasized the deep connection between Railways and Gwalior. He addressed a programme virtually after inaugurating the Kailaras-Sabalgarh-Veerpur rail section and flagging off the extension of the Gwalior-Kailaras MEMU train up to Veerpur station.

Better connectivity is essential for the development of any industrial region, according to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. The Gwalior region will see increased employment opportunities through projects such as battery storage, a footwear cluster and a hydrogen manufacturing unit. Indian Railways remains the most accessible and affordable mode of transport in the country.

Railway connectivity provides access to education, healthcare, trade, and other essential facilities. Around 15 to 20 lakh people travel on this railway line, and the number of beneficiaries is expected to increase.
