The Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved five projects, four of which are railway projects in West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh, as well as a highway project in Bihar.
The Union Cabinet today gave its approval to five projects, with four of these being railway projects and one being a highway project. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the approved projects have an aggregate value of Rs 13,041 crore. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed this to the media following the Cabinet meeting in New Delhi today. The four multitracking railway projects will enhance the network by approximately 410 kilometers across eight districts in West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh. These projects are Kharagpur Bhadrak 4th line, Bhadrak – Haridaspur 4th line, Gummidipundi – Gudur 3rd and 4th line, and Cuttack – Paradeep 3rd and 4th line. The projects will be completed by the year 2030-31 at an estimated cost of Rs 9,450 crore. Additionally, the Union Cabinet approved the upgradation of the Muzaffarpur-Sitamarhi-Sonbarsa Section of NH-22 to a four-lane standard in Bihar. The project, which will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode, has a total capital cost exceeding three thousand 590 crore rupees.
