The Indian Army organised a literary festival in Kargil, Ladakh, featuring participation from various individuals and showcasing the region's rich cultural traditions, language, folklore, and identity.
In Ladakh, the 'Adab Aur Saqafat – Literary Festival 2026' was organised by the Indian Army at GDC Kargil to celebrate the rich literary heritage, cultural traditions, and artistic spirit of Ladakh under the theme 'Celebrating the Culture of Ladakh Highland'. The event aimed to provide a platform for local poets, literary personalities, college faculty members, students, writers, and literature enthusiasts from various parts of Kargil to present their creative works. These works were designed to highlight Ladakh's language, traditions, folklore, and cultural identity.
Brigadier Anil Joshi of 121 Brigade graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Retired IAS Officer Kacho Asfindayar Khan attended as the Guest of Honour. Poets and writers from different areas of Kargil presented literary papers and creative works at the festival.
Students and young participants also interacted with distinguished personalities and discussed the importance of preserving the region's heritage during the event.
