Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav participates in 'Khelo India Samvad – Khel Ki Baat PM Modi Ke Saath' through video conferencing from Dumna Airport, Jabalpur on National Sports Day.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav participated virtually today in the programme 'Khelo India Samvad – Khel Ki Baat PM Modi Ke Saath' through video conferencing from Dumna Airport in Jabalpur. The event was held on the occasion of National Sports Day. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, interacted with more than 8 lakh youth associated with around 1,600 institutions across the country.
During his address, Shri Modi extended greetings to the youth and everyone associated with the sporting fraternity. He paid tribute to legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. The Prime Minister emphasised that sports serve as a means of harnessing the power of youth and sports in building a developed India.
Emphasising the need for greater Olympic participation, Shri Modi said India is yet to achieve adequate representation in several sports. He proposed exploring new possibilities in sports and developing specialised sporting ecosystems for different disciplines and regions. Referring to preparations for the 2036 Olympics, he spoke about launching a large-scale talent hunt to identify children in the 5–15 age group.
Shri Modi also highlighted that sports inspire young people to rise again after facing setbacks. He described the success of para-athletes as inspiring families and society as a whole. He emphasised the role of sports in encouraging youth to stay away from substance abuse.
Shri Modi concluded by stating that sports are emerging as a promising career option. New opportunities are being created for youth in areas such as sports equipment, sports technology, sports medicine, nutrition, psychology, and analytics.
