External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasizes India's continuous talks with both Ukraine and Russia, highlighting New Delhi's readiness to aid in ending the conflict and discussing global challenges with Polish leadership.
In a joint press conference with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar underscored that India is maintaining continuous dialogue with both Ukraine and Russia to explore ideas and suggestions that could potentially help mitigate or end the ongoing conflict.
During the media briefing in Warsaw, Jaishankar reiterated India's stance that endless war must give way to an end to war. He expressed concerns over the escalating deaths, destruction, and global costs associated with prolonged conflicts, stressing the need for efforts to focus on promoting dialogue and diplomacy.
India is committed to doing whatever it can to help bring the conflict to an end, according to Jaishankar. This statement follows his visit to Ukraine, where he held talks with top Ukrainian leadership on Thursday.
In Kyiv, Dr Jaishankar expressed India's readiness to extend any help in any manner to end the Ukraine-Russia war. He also met President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha during his visit in Kyiv.
Later, while in Poland, Jaishankar discussed complex global challenges, including supply chain resilience and food, fuel, and fertiliser security, with his Polish counterpart. Both sides also reviewed the progress of the Joint Action Plan 2024-28, which focuses on trade and investment, defence, culture, and multilateral cooperation.
