External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar discusses ending the conflict in Ukraine with Ukrainian leadership and Polish officials, expressing India's readiness to extend help.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated that India is actively engaged in dialogue with both Ukraine and Russia, exploring ideas and suggestions that could help mitigate or end the ongoing conflict.
During a joint press conference with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, following their talks in Warsaw, Jaishankar expressed India's belief that endless war must give way to an end to war. He emphasized that wars have no winners and only lead to more deaths, destruction, and global costs.
In addition to discussing the conflict, both Jaishankar and Sikorski reviewed complex global challenges such as supply chain resilience and food, fuel, and fertilizer security. They also focused on the progress of the Joint Action Plan 2024-28, which covers trade and investment, defence, culture, and multilateral cooperation.
Later, Jaishankar called on Polish President Karol Nawrocki and discussed the bilateral Strategic Partnership and exchanged views on the Ukraine conflict and the West Asia situation. Prior to his visit to Poland, Jaishankar had visited Ukraine, where he held talks with top Ukrainian leadership.
In Kyiv, after meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Andrii Sybiha, Jaishankar expressed India's readiness to extend any help in any manner to end the Ukraine-Russia war.
