The Indian men’s doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, secured a place in the semi-finals of the China Masters tournament for the fourth consecutive time. They defeated Denmark’s Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen 21-13, 16-21, 21-18 in the quarter-final on October 7th. On the same day, their Malaysian opponents, Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub and Tan Wee Kiong, achieved their first-ever Super 750 semi-final appearance by defeating Indonesia’s world No. 7 pair, Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, in a closely fought match with scores of 21-17, 16-21, 21-19.
India’s campaign in the singles events came to an end as Kidambi Srikanth lost to Hong Kong’s Lee Cheuk Yiu in the Men’s Singles quarter-final on October 8th. The match was a close affair with the scoreline standing at 21-15, 20-22, 14-21 in favour of Lee Cheuk Yiu.
In Women’s Singles, Tanvi Sharma went down against Japan’s Tomoka Miyazaki on October 7th. The final score was 13-21, 9-21.
