The schedule for the bye-elections has been enclosed.

The Commission has decided to use EVMs and VVPATs in all polling stations for these bye-elections. Adequate numbers of EVMs and VVPATs have been made available to ensure a smooth conduct of the elections.

Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) will be the main document of identification for voters, but several other documents can also be used, such as passbooks with photographs issued by Bank/Post Office, Health Insurance Smart Cards issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour/Ayushman Bharat Health Card, Smart Cards issued by RGI under NPR, pension documents with photograph, service identity cards issued to employees by Central/State Govt./PSUs/Public Limited Companies, official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs, and Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card, M/o Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.

The Model Code of Conduct will come into force in the districts where these bye-elections are being held, subject to certain conditions outlined in a letter from the ECI. Candidates with criminal antecedents will be required to publish details about their background in newspapers and through television channels during the campaign period.

The Commission has also issued directions for obtaining 'No dues certificate' for candidates who have been in occupation of government accommodation within the last 10 years before the date of notification of the election.
