On September 7, 2026, Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, addressed the inaugural ceremony of the third edition of Sanjeevani at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. He emphasized the need for strengthening India’s medical value tourism sector. To achieve this goal, he proposed a five-point action plan:
1. Enhancing quality standards: Goyal highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards in medical services to attract more international patients.
2. Expanding facilities: He stressed the need for increasing the number of hospitals and medical centers equipped with state-of-the-art technology and skilled professionals.
3. Promoting global visibility: Goyal underlined the importance of marketing India as a leading medical tourism destination to increase its attractiveness to foreign patients.
