In a significant move to acknowledge the growing responsibilities and expanded roles of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to augment their honorarium. As per the order issued by the state government, an additional amount of 4,000 rupees per month will be allocated to Anganwadi Workers, raising their total monthly honorarium to 12,000 rupees. Similarly, Helpers will receive an additional 2,000 rupees per month, bringing their monthly honorarium to 6,000 rupees. These changes are effective from October 2026.
The decision is in recognition of the increasing roles of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), nutrition services, and the growing use of digital platforms by these individuals.
