The Government of Madhya Pradesh is hosting a summit to promote smart, safe, and environmentally sustainable public transport. The event will focus on modernizing the state's passenger transport system, expanding its network to remote areas, and increasing the use of electric buses.

The Government of Madhya Pradesh is organizing the Yaatri Parivahan Vision Summit-2026 to discuss and implement measures for a smart, safe, convenient, and environmentally sustainable public transport system. The summit aims to modernize, streamline, and strengthen the state's passenger transport system while exploring new opportunities for investment, employment, and industrial growth.

Transport experts, private bus operators, industry representatives, and policymakers from across the country will participate in discussions on improving passenger transport in Madhya Pradesh. Their recommendations will help shape a future-ready roadmap for the sector.

Under 'Mobility Vision: 2030', the state aims to expand its transport network to remote areas, with more than 15,000 modern public buses to be operated across Madhya Pradesh. This will provide safe and convenient mobility to over 3 million passengers daily.

The summit will also focus on clean fuels and the expansion of electric bus services to reduce carbon emissions. The state currently operates 96 PM e-buses and 120 intercity buses, with plans to add 486 PM e-buses and 34 intercity buses over the next six months.

To ensure passenger safety, all buses operating under the Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva will be monitored through an Intelligent Transport Management System (ITMS). Advanced command-and-control centres will be established across Madhya Pradesh Yatri Parivahan and Infrastructure Limited and its seven subsidiary companies.

Private operators are encouraged to participate in the summit and contribute to the growth of passenger transport through public-private partnership (PPP) models. The state will promote greater PPP in passenger transport through transparent contracting systems and incentive schemes.
