Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain will host a grand Deepotsav as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, marking the Prime Minister's birthday and 25 years of his public life.
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is set to commence in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. This initiative marks Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday and 25 years of his public service. A grand Deepotsav will be held in the evening, with over 25 lakh lamps being lit at various ghats along the Shipra River and in the Mahakal Lok area.
The aim of the campaign is to promote public service, good governance, and public welfare through people's participation. The entire area for the Deepotsav has been divided into 7 sectors and 250 sub-sectors, with approximately 11,000 blocks being prepared, each containing 225 lamps.
Two volunteers will be assigned to each block, and around 25,000 people are expected to participate. Necessary materials such as lamps, oil, candles, matchboxes, camphor, etc., will be provided in every sub-sector. Responsible officers have been appointed in each sector to monitor the arrangements.
According to the administration, the Deepotsav will be a zero waste event, with special attention given to cleanliness and waste management.
