The Madhya Pradesh cabinet has approved funding for three major irrigation projects in Ashoknagar, Singrauli, and Ujjain districts.
In a significant decision, the Madhya Pradesh cabinet has approved funds for the continuation of three major irrigation projects. The Chanderi Micro Irrigation Project in Ashoknagar district will receive ₹11.49 crore. Similarly, the Gaund Major Irrigation Project in Singrauli district will get ₹749.62 crore, and the Chitavad Major Irrigation Project on the Kshipra River near Mahidpur tehsil in Ujjain district will receive ₹1,846.05 crore. These projects aim to provide irrigation facilities to over 1.2 lakh hectares of land.
These approvals are expected to boost agricultural productivity and ensure water security for the farmers in these regions. The projects also involve construction of dams and micro-irrigation systems, which will help in efficient use of water resources.
