On September 19, 2026, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the International Conference on ‘The Future of Environment and Climate Dynamics’ at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. In his address, Modi highlighted the nation's profound historical connection to nature and emphasized how ancient cultural wisdom is actively shaping modern climate solutions and inspiring global collective action.
Modi pointed out that India's per capita emission is less than half of the global average. He elaborated on the country's focus on renewable energy, which has significantly contributed to environmental preservation.
The Prime Minister also discussed the nation’s achievements in various environmental sectors, such as reducing plastic pollution through a national ban and promoting a Circular Economy based on reducing, reusing, and recycling waste.
