Under Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav's leadership, Project Cheetah advances in Madhya Pradesh with the addition of a female cheetah from Botswana, increasing the total number of cheetahs in Gandhisagar Sanctuary to four.

The progression of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's Project Cheetah continues under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav in Madhya Pradesh. On Sunday, Dr. Yadav will release CCB2, a female cheetah transported from Botswana, into the Gandhisagar Sanctuary forests. The sanctuary currently houses two males and one female. With the addition of CCB2, the total number of cheetahs in the sanctuary will be four.

The arrival of CCB2 signifies the continuation of Project Cheetah's expansion and the preservation of India’s cheetah legacy. Her journey from Ghanzi, Botswana, to India, then from Kuno National Park in Sheopur to Gandhisagar Sanctuary, heralds a new phase in cheetah conservation in another natural habitat.

CCB2's arrival in India on February 28, 2026, and her subsequent release into the forests of Kuno National Park in May 2026, were symbolic of a new generation of hope for cheetah conservation in India. During her quarantine period, she adapted well to Indian conditions and acclimated to the forest landscape and the Kuno ecosystem.

Now, CCB2 is being relocated from Kuno National Park to Gandhisagar Sanctuary, where she will join three other cheetahs—Prabhash, Pavak, and Dheera. This transition signifies a fresh start and ongoing efforts in cheetah conservation as the female cheetah moves from one wild ecosystem to another.
