Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis inaugurate a new flyover in Nagpur, reducing travel time between Indora and Dighori.

On September 19, 2026, the Indora Chowk-Dighori Flyover was officially opened in Nagpur by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis. The flyover spans approximately 8.9 kilometres on National Highway No. 353D and connects the northern and southern parts of Nagpur city.

Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari explained that the flyover was constructed using Ultra High Performance Fibre Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) technology, which allowed for longer spans between two successive piers. This reduction in supports contributed to faster construction of the flyover.

The new flyover is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Indora and Dighori, with a journey that earlier took around 1 hour now being completed in just 10 to 15 minutes. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) constructed the flyover at an estimated cost of approximately ₹1,000 crore.

The flyover connects five directions at Ashok Square and includes ramps at Daga Hospital, Reshimbagh Chowk, Bada Tajbagh, Agrasen Chowk, and other areas to help reduce traffic congestion in densely populated areas like Gandhibagh and Pachpaoli. At Agrasen Chowk, an elevated passage has been provided over the Metro corridor, facilitating multi-lane traffic movement similar to arrangements on Wardha Road and Kamptee Road in Nagpur city.

Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis announced that the flyover would be named after its founding Sarsanghchalak, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, to commemorate the centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
