On the eighth anniversary of its rollout, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasizes the benefits and impact of Ayushman Bharat, highlighting the number of beneficiaries and visits to Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
Eight years ago on September 23, 2018, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched Ayushman Bharat, a national initiative aimed at providing affordable healthcare to every Indian. According to the Prime Minister's recent statement, this scheme currently offers an annual health cover of Rs. 5 lakh to over 60 crore citizens.
The Prime Minister stated that the introduction of Ayushman Bharat was driven by the idea that every individual should have access to top-quality and affordable healthcare. He further noted that the initiative has resulted in significant savings on medical expenses for the poor and middle class.
Additionally, Shri Modi emphasized that the scheme's success can be seen in the number of visits to Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, which have already exceeded 500 crore. This, he said, has strengthened primary healthcare at the grassroots level.
The Prime Minister extended his best wishes to all beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat.
