The Ministry of External Affairs has launched a two-phase campaign to enhance efficiency, reduce pendency, and optimize the use of government resources in its offices, including Indian missions abroad.
The Government of India announced the launch of 'Special Campaign 6 for Swachhata' by the Ministry of External Affairs. The preparatory phase, from September 15 to September 30, 2026, involves setting targets for all offices, including Indian missions abroad and Regional Passport Offices, regarding reviews of records, pending grievances, references from MPs/State Governments, parliamentary assurances, cleanliness, office management, and beautification of office space. The ministry will also focus on identifying and disposing of e-waste and conducting awareness activities on Swachhata during this phase. The implementation phase, from October 2 to October 31, 2026, will see the execution of cleanliness drives at identified locations, disposal of obsolete records and scrap, freeing up space, resolution of identified pending matters, and improvement of office premises and common areas.
Progress of the Campaign will be monitored through appropriate mechanisms. Through Special Campaign 6 for Swachhata, all officials of the Ministry of External Affairs continue to translate their commitment to maintaining clean and efficient workplaces, reducing pendency, and ensuring optimal utilisation of Government resources in a practical and significant manner.
