Madhya Pradesh Governor urges for widespread education and application of Ayurved, citing its potential in disease prevention and healthy lifestyle promotion.

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has emphasized the importance of Ayurved, an ancient system of medicine, in public welfare. In a speech before the broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's programme 'Mann Ki Baat', Governor Patel suggested drawing inspiration from the initiative to connect Ayurved with public welfare. He highlighted the need to take the knowledge of Ayurved to every section of society and urged it not to be confined merely to treatment but rather used for disease prevention, health awareness, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. The Governor encouraged the Ayurved College to become a centre that advances education, research, healthcare services, and public awareness together.

Governor Patel also emphasized that health is linked to hygiene, a balanced diet, adequate sleep, Yoga, exercise, and positive thinking. He stressed the importance of a balanced diet, millets, adequate water intake, regular exercise, and limited use of oil for good health.

During his speech, Governor Patel also discussed the increasing lifestyle-related challenges in modern times and the need for health awareness and a disciplined routine. He cited the example of Giloy during the COVID period and the importance of obtaining medicines from Jan Aushadhi Kendras.

Lastly, Governor Patel emphasized the need to study traditional healthcare practices and medicinal plants scientifically, particularly in villages and tribal areas. He encouraged teachers to encourage students to undertake such studies.
