On Sunday, the Delhi Police acknowledged receiving complaints of sexual harassment in relation to the previous day's events. The New Delhi district police has handed these complaints over to the Crime Branch at Kamla Market for a fair and impartial investigation into the alleged misconduct by police officers.
The Delhi Police statement did not specify whether the allegations were solely against Bhagat or included separate complaints of sexual assault. Meanwhile, Cockroach Janta Party leader Saurav Das announced a protest at the police station at 11 am on Sunday, seeking action against Bhagat.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also expressed concern over the delay in registering a first information report in the case and questioned the safety of women in Delhi during protests.
