Three women journalists allege sexual harassment by Assistant Commissioner of Police Vivek Bhagat while covering protests in Jantar Mantar. The Delhi Police acknowledges receiving complaints of sexual harassment and transfers the cases to the Crime Branch for investigation.

On Saturday, three female journalists claimed they were sexually harassed by police officers during the coverage of protests at Jantar Mantar. One journalist alleged that Assistant Commissioner of Police Vivek Bhagat groped her while documenting the detention of student leader Neha Bora.

The journalist reportedly went to the Parliament Street police station to file a complaint, but no action was taken. Following this, several journalists and other protesters gathered outside the police station demanding that a first information report be registered against Bhagat.

On Sunday, the Delhi Police acknowledged receiving complaints of sexual harassment in relation to the previous day's events. The New Delhi district police has handed these complaints over to the Crime Branch at Kamla Market for a fair and impartial investigation into the alleged misconduct by police officers.

The Delhi Police statement did not specify whether the allegations were solely against Bhagat or included separate complaints of sexual assault. Meanwhile, Cockroach Janta Party leader Saurav Das announced a protest at the police station at 11 am on Sunday, seeking action against Bhagat.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also expressed concern over the delay in registering a first information report in the case and questioned the safety of women in Delhi during protests.
