The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) Rajasthan Unit conducted a series of awareness programmes in various opium cultivation areas, focusing on the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting community participation towards a drug-free India.

On October 3, 2026, the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) Rajasthan Unit organized an awareness session on drug abuse at the University of Kota under Operation Yuva Raksha. Shri Murlidhar Pratihar, Registrar, University of Kota, NSS Head Ms. Shweta, faculty members, and students were present. Deputy Narcotics Commissioner, Kota, Mr. Naresh Bundel, explained the harmful effects of drug abuse and its causes such as manipulation, peer pressure, and social conditioning. The participants took a Drug De-Addiction Pledge (Nasha Mukti Pledge) reaffirming their commitment to stay away from drugs.

The CBN also organized programmes for opium cultivators of Kota Division on the harmful effects of opium, cannabis, and other illicit drugs. Banners carrying the campaign message were displayed, and the programme concluded with an 'Oath for an Addiction-Free India', with participants pledging to spread awareness in their communities.

Awareness and Cleanliness Campaigns under 'Yuva Raksha and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' were conducted at various locations, including Menar Village, Tehsil Vallabhnagar, District Udaipur, and Village Gomana, Chhoti Sadri. These programmes focused on healthy, drug-free lifestyles, cleanliness drives, and prevention of drug abuse.

The CBN organized a programme at Sawaipur-Badala Bypass Highway, which witnessed participation from hundreds of local residents and opium cultivators. Awareness programmes were also held in Babrikhda, Tehsil Jhalrapatan, Mangrol, and other poppy cultivation villages.

All these programmes emphasized that prevention of drug abuse requires active participation from all sections of society, particularly local communities and cultivators. Through these initiatives, the CBN reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening awareness, community participation, and collective action towards the vision of a drug-free India.
