Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board disburses over ₹21 lakh to support education of 289 underprivileged children from Muslim community, in line with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav's vision.
The Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board has approved funds for the education of 289 orphaned and needy children from the Muslim community residing in Bhopal. This initiative follows the vision of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The Board will directly pay school fees of up to ₹10,000 for each selected child, ensuring continuity in their education.
The funds are generated from income at the Orphanage (Yateemkhana) property, which is being used in accordance with the original intent of the donor. Applications were invited through advertisements in leading newspapers, and 289 students were found eligible after detailed scrutiny and transparent verification.
Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board Chairman Dr. Sanwar Patel stated that an intensive campaign had been launched following the introduction of the new Waqf amendment provisions to free Waqf properties from illegal encroachments. The legitimate income generated from these properties is now being used for this educational assistance.
The programme, scheduled for October 13 at the Yateemkhana Ground on the premises of the Waqf Board office, is described as a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, using income from Waqf properties directly to support the education of orphaned and underprivileged children.
