In his Vijayadashami address, the Prime Minister expressed greetings to the nation, highlighted the significance of Lord Shri Ram's ideals, and emphasized the need for unity, self-reliance, and preservation of India's heritage.
On the occasion of Vijayadashami, the Prime Minister paid tribute to Lord Shri Ram, Mother Janaki, and Bajrang Bali. He extended greetings to all countrymen, celebrating the spirit of Ramleela permeating across India. The PM emphasized that this annual event is not merely a festival but the life force of India, symbolizing the victory of righteousness over unrighteousness. The Prime Minister stated that the faith in Lord Shri Ram has endured for thousands of years due to his exemplary character and the ideals he embodied.
The PM highlighted the importance of compassion, kindness, love, and harmony demonstrated by Lord Shri Ram, such as his respect for Nishadraj and Mother Shabari while in exile. He underscored that a Ram Rajya, in essence, denotes a system free from discrimination, offering justice to all, and prioritizing service over rule. Goswami Tulsidas ji's quote, 'Daihik daivik bhautik tapa, Ram raj nahin kahuhi vyapa,' was used to illustrate the ideal of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram.
The PM urged citizens to regard one another as divine and prioritize service to the poor and deprived. He drew a parallel between the life of Lord Ram and modern challenges, emphasizing that difficulties should not deter us from our goals, but rather spur collective action towards finding solutions through hard work. The PM called for faith in our own strength, confidence in our capabilities, proper utilization of resources, and unwavering commitment to our objectives.
The PM asserted that a nation progresses with self-respect, stressing the importance of preserving heritage in fostering national pride. He mentioned the return of over 650 ancient idols to India and the addition of several Indian sites to UNESCO's World Heritage List as evidence of this commitment. Last year, Diwali was also recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The PM concluded his address by emphasizing the spirit of Vijayadashami – that of victory and triumph. He encouraged the nation to unite against forces that harm the country, divide society, or harbor hatred towards Indian culture.
