The Department of Science and Technology (DST) increased cleanliness campaign sites from 315 to 401, disposed of pending records, resolved public grievances, and generated revenue during the ongoing Special Campaign 6. The campaign has also made significant progress in reducing pendency.

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) is implementing a cleanliness campaign in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG). The campaign, which began with 315 identified cleanliness campaign sites, witnessed active participation from various departments, autonomous institutes, subordinate offices, technology innovation hubs (TIHs), missions, and other affiliated organisations.

On October 5, a review meeting was chaired by the Joint Secretary (Administration) & the Nodal Officer for Special Campaign 6. During the meeting, all organisations were encouraged to actively participate in the campaign and utilise the opportunity to undertake cleanliness drives, dispose of pending records and scrap, resolve public grievances, and improve overall workplace management.

As a result of these sustained efforts, the number of identified cleanliness campaign sites increased significantly from 315 to 401. So far, 61,888 square feet of space has been freed, and revenue amounting to ₹8,25,696 has been generated through the disposal of scrap.

Significant progress has also been achieved in reducing pendency. Out of 135 public grievances, 99 have been disposed of. Nine out of 23 public grievance appeals and seven out of 12 references received from Members of Parliament have also been disposed of.

Under record management, 6,280 out of 7,000 physical files due for review have been reviewed, and 2,598 identified files have been weeded out. In respect of e-files, 1,791 out of 1,900 files put up for review have been reviewed, of which 949 e-files have already been closed.
