The fifth edition of the Indian Navy’s flagship Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Seminar, Swavlamban 2026, is set to take place at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, from October 24 to 26, 2026. The seminar, themed 'Strength & Power through Innovation and Indigenisation', aims to foster indigenous technological innovation and bolster India’s defence self-reliance. Since its inception in 2022, Swavlamban has served as a national platform for connecting the Indian Navy’s operational requirements with the technological capabilities of Indian industry and academia. The initiative seeks to expedite the transition from indigenous innovation to deployable operational capabilities, thereby enhancing maritime preparedness.
A thematic exhibition will display indigenous innovations in various sectors such as Maritime Surveillance, Counter UAS, Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technologies, NBCD and Safety, and Efficiency Enhancers. The exhibition will also showcase success stories that demonstrate the progression of products from ideation to fruition.
The seminar will feature discussions on future and emerging technologies, including quantum technologies, Artificial Intelligence, autonomous systems, and hypersonic technologies. These technologies will be explored for their potential applications in future warfare and naval operations. Dedicated sessions will also focus on strengthening self-reliance and the iDEX ecosystem, building resilient domestic supply chains, promoting academic entrepreneurship, and enabling Start-ups to scale promising indigenous technologies.
The plenary session of the seminar will be attended by Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh, who will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest on October 26, 2026.
