Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh addressing the National Workshop on Pension Litigation

Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized the need for a comprehensive review of pension regulations, simplified rules, improved grievance redressal, and the importance of digital platforms in pension administration.

Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh called for a comprehensive review of pension regulations during the 2nd National Workshop on Pension Litigation organized by the Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. He highlighted that many pension disputes arise due to evolving social realities not being adequately reflected in existing rules. The Minister emphasized the Government's commitment to creating a zero-litigation pension ecosystem through simplified rules and improved grievance redressal. In his address, Dr. Jitendra Singh launched three initiatives: Compendium of Case Laws on Pension Litigation, a Flyer on Pension Litigation, and Special Campaign 3.0 of the Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare. He also highlighted the Government's decision to extend pension benefits to separated daughters by simplifying eligibility conditions. The Minister stressed the need for continuous policy review and urged departments to adopt a research-driven approach towards pension reforms, analyzing litigation trends and incorporating stakeholder feedback into policymaking. Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized grievance redressal as an important mechanism for policy improvement and called for a balanced approach combining digital governance with human-centric service. He also stressed the need to simplify pension rules, strengthen outreach through digital platforms and social media, and improve awareness among pensioners regarding their entitlements.
