Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced the government's agreement to discuss NEET and related issues in Parliament, following a protest by Congress leaders. Meanwhile, senior Congress leaders, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, and other opposition party members were detained by Delhi Police during the protest.

The Indian government has agreed to engage in discussions regarding NEET and associated matters within the parliamentary forum. Union Minister Jitendra Singh made this announcement while addressing media outlets in New Delhi tonight, following a meeting with Congress leaders at Lok Kalyan Marg. Previously, members of the Congress party led by President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and other party members staged a demonstration demanding parliamentary discourse on the NEET issue. During the protest, senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and other opposition party members, were detained by Delhi Police this evening. According to Gandhi, he would immediately end the protest if the government agreed to a discussion on NEET and related matters. However, after their meeting, Dr Jitendra Singh stated that Gandhi subsequently retracted his earlier stance and presented additional demands. The Minister criticized this sudden backtracking, stating it was unfortunate and inappropriate for a senior leader like Rahul Gandhi.

The Minister also highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it very clear today that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the NEET paper leak case and action is being taken on those found involved in the matter.
